What if you could step inside real scientific data and explore another planet together?

Planetary scientist and VR2Planets CEO François Civet takes participants on a guided journey across real georeferenced terrains – from geological landscapes on Earth to Mars rover traverses and space exploration mission sites. Using VRExplorer, the application he developed to make complex spatial data explorable in VR, François turns scientific datasets into immersive environments where participants can examine terrain, take measurements, and explore together beyond the limits of a flat screen.

But the journey doesn’t end with planetary science. François also reveals how the same approach is being applied to fields such as Oil & Gas, submarine mapping, and digital heritage.

Experience how XR can transform complex spatial data into places we can enter, understand, analyze and explore together.

PhD Planetologist & Geophysicist and CEO at VR2Planets

François Civet is the founder and CEO of VR2Planets, a French deep-tech startup specializing in immersive and collaborative visualization of real georeferenced terrain data. Holding a PhD in Planetology and Geophysics, he spent several years as a researcher at the CNRS before founding VR2Planets in 2016 as a spin-off of the Laboratoire de Planétologie et Géosciences in Nantes. Recipient of the EuroPlanet Prize for Science Communication in 2016, he has led VR2Planets to become a trusted partner of ESA, CNES, NASA and JAXA, with deployments across 20+ institutions in Europe and North America, training astronauts and scientists on planetary and terrestrial terrains in Virtual Reality.
