What if building your own camp on Burning Man’s virtual Playa didn’t require knowing how to code?
In this hands-on session, Athena Demos and Doug Jacobson invite participants to become worldbuilders themselves. After an introduction to BurnerSphere and its no-code creation tools, participants form small teams and start building their own camps on the virtual Playa, bringing Burning Man’s participatory spirit of creating, sharing, and contributing to IMMERSIVE X.
And the Build-a-Thon doesn’t end when the session does. Teams can continue developing their camps throughout the festival, experimenting, collaborating, and watching their ideas take shape before presenting them during The Great Build Tour on the final day.
No coding or previous worldbuilding experience is required. Just bring your curiosity, creativity, and willingness to build something together.
