To change the world for the better, we need positive visions of the future. But how do we reclaim our ability to imagine what could be and turn possibility into action?

In this interactive, experiential opening to IMMERSIVE X 2026, festival curator and organizer Thomas Zorbach and co-founder Anne Seubert invite participants to explore this year’s theme, “Reclaim the Future.” Together, we’ll set the stage for a three-day journey across immersive worlds, ideas, and perspectives.

Participants will not only receive everything they need to navigate the festival and make the most of the experience, but will also be invited to look beyond the event itself. In a playful immersive experience, they’ll get the chance to take a glimpse into their own future and reflect on the future they want to help create.

The journey starts here. The future is not something that simply happens to us. It is something we can imagine, shape, and reclaim together.

Immersive Experiences That Touch the Soul

ShuShu VR is an award-winning VR artist, director and creative visionary blending theatre, visual art and emerging technology into powerful immersive experiences. With an MA from the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts and a background in Opera, Musical Direction and Fine Arts, his work has received international recognition from Cannes and Raindance Immersive.

ShuShu designs immersive worlds and virtual venues for live events, while developing masterclasses and educational programs in creative concept development, emerging media and AI-powered creation – empowering the next generation of artists and storytellers.

Niko Lang

IT-Consultant and 3D-Artist at VRium

Niko Lang is an IT consultant, 3D artist, developer and VR worldbuilder who has been creating virtual worlds since 2016, first in AltspaceVR and today across platforms including VRChat. His work explores how immersive environments can transcend the limitations of physical reality, often bringing together art, science and technology. From award-nominated collaborative art experiences to scientifically inspired journeys through planets and exoplanets, Niko creates virtual spaces designed to offer new perspectives on the worlds around us. He has collaborated extensively with VR artist ShuShu and the VRium Creative Team.

Together with his team at vm-people, a Berlin- and Vienna-based agency founded in 2004, Thomas Zorbach creates immersive experiences that shift mindsets, inspire action, and turn audiences into raving fans. At the heart of his work is Spatial Transformation: the shift from digital communication to spatial, immersive, and social experiences. A strategist, ideator, and frequent traveler in the Metaverse, he helps brands turn emerging technologies into magic.

Thomas is the initiator and curator of IMMERSIVE X | The Global XR Festival in VR—an annual gathering and worldwide community of thought leaders, creators, and activists, staged entirely in virtual worlds.

Anne Seubert

Managing Director at Brands & Places

As an experienced leader, passionate incubator and accomplished process facilitator, Anne Seubert builds the conditions in which people, organisations and ideas can enter the stage, create impact and fulfil their mission. together. Through Brands & Places, she works at the intersection of leadership, community building and organisational development — designing systems, spaces and formats for transformation.

She has been part of IMMERSIVE X from the beginning, usually behind the scenes: as sparring partner, connector and co-creator alongside Thomas Zorbach. In 2026, she steps on stage with him — opening a festival whose theme they shaped together: RECLAIM THE FUTURE.
