Michael Barngrover is the Managing Director of XR4Europe, where he connects European XR communities with global networks and supports European Commission strategies for XR and virtual worlds, particularly the wider adoption of open standards, interoperability, and human-centred design principles. Alongside this role, he works part-time as an XR developer with artists, researchers, and historians on immersive cultural and research projects. He has also co-founded XR Türkiye, supported grassroots networks such as XR Crowd, and worked with initiatives worldwide to advance ethical, inclusive, and interoperable immersive technologies.
